The hammer has a permanent magnetic embedded is one of the faces (5/16" diameter end - split-end) which helps when working with small brads, tacks, & nails. A great hammer for leatherwork, furniture & upholstery work. Note: Magnetic head should not be left in contact with steel items or it may lose magnetism.    Made in the USA.
